The lineup was revealed after a video teaser on the club's Rocket League account, and a separate post confirmed the partner status. Rocket League Esports welcomed Team Heretics to the scene shortly after, and AtomiK and Dorito both shared the news on X. No substitute has been named.

The Mate y Tapa trio

The three players already know each other well. AtomiK announced the trio in June under the name Mate y Tapa, without an organization, for the World Championship and Esports World Cup Last Chance Qualifiers. In July, Mate y Tapa won the European LCQ, beating No Balls Just Chase in the semifinals and Volare in the final, to take the last spot at Worlds.

Project Conquerors (PCS) then signed the roster for the Esports World Cup LCQ in August. In September, the trio played the World Championship under the Mate y Tapa name. The end of their time with PCS was never announced, and PCS is now reported to be chasing another roster.

Before that, ajg and Dorito had played together in Synergy, a team without an organization, during the 2026 season. AtomiK played for Twisted Minds in 2025.

From rumor to official

Sheep Esports reported on October 9 that Team Heretics were expected to sign AtomiK, Dorito and ajg for the Club Championship, after earlier reports that the club had been selected for the partner program. Both points are now official.

Team Heretics are a new name in Rocket League, and they arrive with a trio that has already reached Worlds together. The roster pairs two Spanish players, AtomiK and Dorito, with Argentine ajg. The Club Championship opens with the Club Kick-Off in London, from December 9 to 13.
